When I started selling yachts over  25 years ago I would have never guessed that this hobby would have become a profession. As I look back at the years now, the boats I’ve sold, and the new friends I’ve met and the places they have taken their boats,  I can think of no other profession I’d rather be in.

Although I mainly sell larger cruising sailboats, both new and used, I am also quite experienced in power boats of all sizes. I take a lot of pride in helping people that are just getting started find the right boat to suit their needs.

I continually keep a nationwide outlook on the market to find the best deals on brokerage boats for my clients and I travel extensively to represent clients in these transactions. I regularly attend the 2 largest boat shows (Miami and Annapolis) in the US every year to get the latest information on both new boats and gear and to look for brokerage boats for my customers.

I’ve been both the Vice President and a two time Director of the Gulf Coast Yacht Brokers Association (GCYBA) and I am currently in my 8th term as a Regional Captain for the Yacht Brokers Association of America (YBAA). I am also one of the oldest Florida Licensed Brokers in the US (#1815 out of over 6000 now), and one of the few in Texas which allows me to buy and sell boats in Florida. I have also received Beneteau’s Top Gun award 3 times for sales and dedication. I believe there is no substitute for experience when it comes to buying a boat. Whether it’s power or sail, I’m sure that my experience can help you make the right choice. See some of my testamonials on the tab “Testamonials” on the left.

Of course I’ve never lost my passion for boating either. I am a broker who actually owns and uses boats.  I have personally owned multiple boats from 20 to 32 feet and have enjoyed owning some of the models I represent in both Catalina and Beneteau. Our last boat was a Beneteau 321.  My wife and two daughters, who are 18 and 16, enjoy sailing and boating on Galveston Bay, the Texas Gulf Coast, and the Caribbean. I would look forward to working for you and showing your family why I believe this is the best family oriented activity you can pursue.

I am also a broker who enjoys getting out there and I regularly plan several excursions a year.  I’ve sailed the East, West and Gulf Coast as well as Mexico and the Caribbean. I’ve also done some extended passages from Grand Cayman to Tx, Costa Rica through the Panama Canal as well as from St. Thomas, USVI to Bermuda.  I’m always looking forward to the next trip.

So whether you’re looking for the ultimate cruising boat or you’re just getting started, call me and we’ll get the discussions started and find you the the right boat that fits your needs.

The one thing I can tell you for sure, I promise you’ll be happy.

I look forward to hearing from you!!

Sailing for over 35 years, and selling boats now for over 18… I have logged many fun filled days on the water, both cruising and racing. Fortunate to have found a career doing something that I really enjoy, I take much pride in finding the right boat to fit individual needs. Starting in this industry back in 1989, selling boats from a Sunfish to 36ft keelboats and helping new sailors with the smaller models, along with running a complete ship’s store and service department… that really prepared me for selling the larger yachts like we specialize in here at Sea Lake.

I joined the team at Sea Lake in 1996 and am very fortunate and happy to be working with the most professional and experienced group of brokers here on the Gulf Coast. I am one of less than 400 brokers nationwide to become a Certified Professional Yacht Broker after extensive training and testing with the Yacht Brokers Association of America. I have always been very involved with the local Gulf Coast Yacht Brokers Association, I served as the vice-president, President in 97-98 and then two years on the board of directors. I was presented with the Yacht Broker of the Year award, as decided by my peers in this area. I have recently just been elected again to serve once again as the President of our association for another term 07-08.  I would really enjoy helping help you in anyway I can.

I started sailing in Sea Scouts many years ago.  For the past 35 years I have been professionally selling power and sailing yachts in the Houston area.  I have always tried to find my customers the best boats at the best deal.  One of my customers, Patrick Bartosh said in a recent letter to Telltales Magazine, “Besides getting a great boat made better during the recommissioning, I made a new friend.  What more could a sailor ask of a business deal?”  What a compliment!  I will work this hard for you, too and hopefully you will have the same response as Patrick.  Throughout my sailing career, I’ve raced offshore, cruised and taught boat handling and sailing.

Professionally I’ve received CPYB Certification and my USCG Operator’s License.  I have taught in the Gulf Coast Yacht Broker’s Program and I hold diplomas from Island Packet, Hunter, and Beneteau in their certification programs.  Having sold over 250 different models of sail and power boats from all over the world, I have introduced many “firsts” for this area:  The Westerly Corsair; the Westerly Sea Lord; Island packets 32, 35 and 44; Tolley Crafts 34 and 37; Luhrs 380, 320, Rampage 320 and Formula 310; Catalinas 36, 320, 270 and more recently the 470.

On a personal level, my wife Barbara and I have been married for 30 years.  We have lived in League City for 30 years, too.  We attend Clear Lake United Methodist Church and we are active at HYC and in several other local groups.  We have two sons aged 19 and 27 and a new daughter-in-law.  Our entire family lives and boats in the Bay Area.   As well as being my line of business, sailing is still my favorite hobby.   My other hobbies include computer communications and history.

I look forward to sharing my love of sailing with the experienced Sea Lake team of professionals and its clientele. I have lots of experience sailing on the Bay and the Texas  coast, as well as other seas. I delight in sharing the wonder and excitement of our watery world with people seeking to enjoy it too. For that reason, the process of finding a good fit for each boating search is an enjoyable experience to me. Let’s have a good time while we look to satisfy a new stage in your boating experience!

Born in the Bronx, New York I move to the West Coast of Florida with my folks at an early age. Growing up on the Bay side of Anna Maria Island was my first introduction to the sea. I was nick named “the mullet man” because if you ever ran into me I had a cast net and fishing pole in hand at all times! Learned how to sail on sunfish and Hobie cats and have day sailed, long distance cruised, and fished off every type of power boat big and small, near shore and off. I have several Gulf crossings to and from Texas, LA, FL, the Keys onboard various sail and power yachts. I enjoy photographing nature and extreme sports. My latest toy is a 17′X17′ Trimaran with hydrofoils that will take me and the boat to speeds above 30 mph under sail alone!

As a resident living in the Clear Lake area for more than a decade I am very familiar with the areas boat inventory, market status and those once in a lifetime opportunities that just don’t’ make it to the general public.  I truly enjoy working with great customers in helping them find the boat that suits them best, and there’s nothing more rewarding to me than a satisfied customer.
I look forward to making your sailing dreams a reality. Reality is much better than being an arm-chair boater.
