Doug Hughes, CPYBSailing for over 35 years, and selling boats now for over 18… I have logged many fun filled days on the water, both cruising and racing. Fortunate to have found a career doing something that I really enjoy, I take much pride in finding the right boat to fit individual needs. Starting in this industry back in 1989, selling boats from a Sunfish to 36ft keelboats and helping new sailors with the smaller models, along with running a complete ship’s store and service department… that really prepared me for selling the larger yachts like we specialize in here at Sea Lake. I joined the team at Sea Lake in 1996 and am very fortunate and happy to be working with the most professional and experienced group of brokers here on the Gulf Coast. I am one of less than 400 brokers nationwide to become a Certified Professional Yacht Broker after extensive training and testing with the Yacht Brokers Association of America. I have always been very involved with the local Gulf Coast Yacht Brokers Association, I served as the vice-president, President in 97-98 and then two years on the board of directors. I was presented with the Yacht Broker of the Year award, as decided by my peers in this area. I have recently just been elected again to serve once again as the President of our association for another term 07-08. I would really enjoy helping you in anyway I can. |

Jamie Babcock, CPYBBorn in the Bronx, New York I move to the West Coast of Florida with my folks at an early age. Growing up on the Bay side of Anna Maria Island was my first introduction to the sea. I was nick named “the mullet man” because if you ever ran into me I had a cast net and fishing pole in hand at all times! Learned how to sail on sunfish and Hobie cats and have day sailed, long distance cruised, and fished off every type of power boat big and small, near shore and off. I have several Gulf crossings to and from Texas, LA, FL, the Keys on board various sail and power yachts. I enjoy photographing nature and extreme sports. My latest toy is a 17′X17′ Trimaran with hydrofoils that will take me and the boat to speeds above 30 mph under sail alone! As a resident living in the Clear Lake area for more than a decade I am very familiar with the areas boat inventory, market status and those once in a lifetime opportunities that just don’t’ make it to the general public. I truly enjoy working with great customers in helping them find the boat that suits them best, and there’s nothing more rewarding to me than a satisfied customer.

“Sailboat” Mike Shebester, CPYBAs my name implies I am someone that most people associate with sailing even though I have a passion for all types of boating. I learned to sail 35 years ago and have been active in both cruising and racing. I have lived aboard for most of the past 14 years on a variety of boats. The thing that I love about sailing is that it can be either the most relaxing or intense activity that you can participate in depending on whether you are cruising or racing. I have a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering and a background in the oil industry. I started my yacht selling career representing Beneteau Sailboats at Loe’s Highport on Lake Texoma in 1992. I joined the Sea Lake Yacht Sales team in December 2003 and I am excited about or new location at Pier 121 Marina on Lake Lewisville and all the new product lines that I now represent. I have been successful in selling boats but I am not a high pressure salesman. My customers keep coming back to me for my product knowledge and my listening ability. Once I find out what features you want in a boat and how you are going to use a boat I take my experience and product knowledge to steer you to the right boat. Let me help you find the right boat for you. |

Capt. Robert BrushGrowing up along the shores of Galveston Bay, I have always had a passion for boats and salt water. While my childhood peers were earning money with paper routes and lawn mowing, I was rowing out to the oyster beds in my dad’s 14′ cypress hull skiff to harvest and sell them to the area businesses. Although my 35 year career with the Railroad kept me land locked during working hours, I was never far from the Bay or without a boat of my own. I have logged many miles under my keel on Commercial as well as Pleasure Vessels, both motor and sailing. My constant pursuit of my “Dream Yacht” led me to the friendly, knowledgeable, customer oriented team at Sea Lake Yacht Sales. I am honored to have been invited to join this team and I am looking forward to assisting their clients in the same courteous manner they have shown to me. It’s possible that the yacht of your dreams is docked at our pier today if not, I can help you find a vessel locally or internationally through our multiple listing services. I can find any boat anywhere. |
