"Sailboat Mike" Mike Shebester- Certified Professional Yacht Broker |
|
As my name implies I am someone that most people associate with sailing even though I have a passion for all types of boating. I learned to sail 35 years ago and have been active in both cruising and racing. I have lived aboard for most of the past 14 years on a variety of boats. The thing that I love about sailing is that it can be either the most relaxing or intense activity that you can participate in depending on whether you are cruising or racing. I have a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Engineering and a background in the oil industry. I started my yacht selling career representing Beneteau Sailboats at Loe's Highport on Lake Texoma in 1992. I joined the Sea Lake Yacht Sales team in December 2003 and I am excited about or new location at Pier 121 Marina on Lake Lewisville and all the new product lines that I now represent. I have been successful in selling boats but I am not a high pressure salesman. My customers keep coming back to me for my product knowledge and my listening ability. Once I find out what features you want in a boat and how you are going to use a boat I take my experience and product knowledge to steer you to the right boat. Let me help you find the right boat for you.

I have often suggested to friends who do not sail, that they should really try it because it is better than having ten psychiatrists available to give you serenity and a clear head. I began sailing in 1970 in a 12 foot dingy and have owned or rented boats up to 47 feet in the Narragansett Bay, the Gulf of Mexico and Puget Sound. I built a small fiberglass catamaran sailboat in 1971, and have owned and restored several small wooden boats and I am currently restoring a 1957 15 foot Yellow Jacket runabout built in Denison, Texas. My professional background has been in custom home building and most recently as a REALTOR®. And I am very proud to be voted one of the best agents in Dallas for 2008 by D Magazine. I was rewarded with this honor for providing highly personalized and professional service to all of my clients. It is my intent to provide buyers and sellers of sailboats unmatched service and integrity in a profession that I love more than any other activity with which I have ever been involved.
I hope to introduce novices to an experience that is truly unique and help them and all of my clients experience my professional service, passion and love of sailing. My desire is that you will find the same excitement, joy and peace through sailing as I do.
