Kent Little- VP Sales Manager Certified Professional Yacht Broker |

When I started selling yachts over 22 years ago I would have never guessed that this hobby would have become a profession. As I look back at the years now, the boats I've sold, and the new friends I've met I can think of no other profession I'd rather be in.
Although I mainly sell larger cruising sailboats, both new and used, I am also quite experienced in power boats of all sizes. I take a lot of pride in helping people that are just getting started find the right boat to suit their needs.
I continually keep a nationwide outlook on the market to find the best deals on brokerage boats for my clients and I travel extensively to represent clients in these transactions. I regularly attend the 2 largest boat shows (Miami and Annapolis) in the US every year to get the latest information on both new boats and gear and to look for brokerage boats for my customers.
I've been both the Vice President and a Director of the Gulf Coast Yacht Brokers Association (GCYBA) and I am currently in my 2nd term as a Regional Captain for the Yacht Brokers Association of America (YBAA). I am also one of the oldest Florida Licensed Brokers in Texas (#1815), which allows me to buy and sell boats in Florida and I have received Beneteau's Top Gun award 3 times for sales and dedication. I believe there is no substitute for experience when it comes to buying a boat. Whether it's power or sail, I'm sure that my experience can help you make the right choice. Of course I've never lost my passion for boating either. My wife and two daughters, who are 13 and 11, enjoy sailing on Galveston Bay and the Texas Gulf Coast. I would look forward to working for you and showing your family why I believe this is the best family oriented activity you can pursue.

Sailing for over 35 years, and selling boats now for over 18… I have logged many fun filled days on the water, both cruising and racing. Fortunate to have found a career doing something that I really enjoy, I take much pride in finding the right boat to fit individual needs. Starting in this industry back in 1989, selling boats from a Sunfish to 36ft keelboats and helping new sailors with the smaller models, along with running a complete ship's store and service department… that really prepared me for selling the larger yachts like we specialize in here at Sea Lake. I joined the team at Sea Lake in 1996 and am very fortunate and happy to be working with the most professional and experienced group of brokers here on the Gulf Coast. I am one of less than 400 brokers nationwide to become a Certified Professional Yacht Broker after extensive training and testing with the Yacht Brokers Association of America. I have always been very involved with the local Gulf Coast Yacht Brokers Association, I served as the vice-president, President in 97-98 and then two years on the board of directors. I was presented with the Yacht Broker of the Year award, as decided by my peers in this area. I have recently just been elected again to serve once again as the President of our association for another term 07-08. I would really enjoy helping help you in anyway I can.

For 23 years I have been professionally selling power and sailing yachts in the Houston Area, always trying to find my customer the best boat at the best deal. As Patrick Bartosh said in a recent letter to Telltales Magazine "Besides getting a great boat made better during the recommission, I made a new friend. What more could a sailor ask of a business deal." Throughout my sailing career I've raced offshore, cruised, and taught, boat handling and sailing. Professionally I've received my USCG Operators license. Taught in the Gulf Coast Yacht Brokers Certification program and hold diplomas from Island Packet and Hunter in their certification programs. sold over 250 different models of sail and power boats from all over the world. I've introduced many firsts for this area, the first Westerly Corsair, Westerly Sea Lord, Island Packet 32, 35, 44, Tolley Crast 34 and 37, Luhrs 380, 320 Rampage 36, Formula 310, Catalina 36, 320 and 270, and more recently the 470. My wife Barbara and our two sons 9 and 17 live and boat in the Bay Area. My other hobbies are computer communications and history.

I look forward to sharing my love of sailing with the experienced Sea Lake team of professionals and its clientele. I have lots of experience sailing on the Bay and the Texas coast, as well as other seas. I delight in sharing the wonder and excitement of our watery world with people seeking to enjoy it too. For that reason, the process of finding a good fit for each boating search is an enjoyable experience to me. Let’s have a good time while we look to satisfy a new stage in your boating experience!

I was originally born in the Bronx, NY. Growing up with Grandparents that spent summers living aboard their Bertram fishing boat moored in Edgewater, NY. That was my first exposure to the ocean and the offshore fishing life style, all though I was too young to get the boat bug at that time I love being around the water. The boating bug came when our family decided to make their winter get away from the brutal winters of New York to the sunny shores of Anna Maria Island, FL a permanent home. I spent most every day in the ocean fishing, surfing & sailing my sunfish on Tampa bay and to Bird Island a short sail away. Now looking back, as an adult that was quite an adventure for a 14 year old! I guess that is when I realized I loved the freedom, peace and adventure that sailing and boating gave me.
My first job was at 11 yrs old as a door to door salesman. I learned early on that if you wanted something you had to work for it. No one was going to give it to you. Our home had a variety of fruit trees growing on it and I would go to the only grocery store in our neighborhood and check out the prices of their fruit to establish the price I was going to charge for my hand delivered, fresh from the tree produce to the families in my neighborhood to earn myself some money. Every spring and summer I was making enough money to pay for all of my fishing poles, lures, cast nets and bubble gum I could fit in my mouth at one time!
I have sailed the Texas Gulf Coast and have crossed the Gulf of Mexico to and from the Florida Keys and East Coast of Florida as a mate on several deliveries. I have spent more than 6 years as a Yacht Broker developing the Texas, Oklahoma, & Louisiana catamaran markets. I was the factory dealer for Lagoon Sailing & Power Catamarans from 38’ to 70’. I also represented Ocean Alexander motor yachts from 45’ to 103’ as well as Mainship trawler and Excite Cat Power catamarans. I was responsible for importing, selling and outfitting these yacht lines for the dealership and clients. Many of which spend their seasons cruising in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Bahamas Islands.
I really enjoy helping others pursue their dreams and it gives me great satisfaction when I have assisted a client in purchasing the right boat and they are happy with it.
“Our relationship is not over when we complete the sale…..it’s just the beginning. “
