The purpose of this regatta is to encourage women sailors to compete in the sport of sailboat racing and to recognize Fairfax Moody for her accomplishments. By the deed of gift, the 2003 Fairfax Moody Perpetual Trophy will be awarded to the winner from the Non-Spinnaker Class. In 1936, Fairfax Moody, a young female sailor became the first female skipper to compete for the Sir Thomas Lipton Cup.

This regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing except as modified by the current Sailing Instructions. Participants may leave their boats in the HYC harbor; contact the Harbor Master at 281-471-1255 for docking information. The sailing instructions will be available at the skippers meeting.
